The adjustment of the number of sorting grids in the straight-line cross-belt sorting line is mainly realized in the following ways:

Hardware expansion: the linear cross-belt sorter usually adopts modular design, and its line body expansion is more convenient. When it is necessary to increase the number of sorting grids, it is only necessary to increase the number of car PLCs and modify the number of cars with speed PLC. In this way, sorting grids can be flexibly added according to actual needs to adapt to sorting tasks of different scales.

Software configuration and parameter adjustment: The parameters such as the starting position of the grid, the width of the grid and the width of the trolley can be modified at will through the control system of the equipment, so as to optimize the grid layout and improve the utilization rate and sorting efficiency of the grid without changing the number of hardware. For example, according to the sorting requirements of parcels with different sizes, the width of the grid and the width of the trolley are adjusted to adapt to parcels with different sizes.

Intelligent adjustment based on flow algorithm: Some advanced linear cross-belt sorting systems have intelligent flow control function. The main control module will first obtain the flow rate of a single flow direction and the reasonable flow rate of a single cell in the task to be sorted, and then determine the number of cells required by a single flow direction in the task to be sorted according to the ratio of the flow rate of a single flow direction to the reasonable flow rate. When it is detected that the task to be sorted needs to adjust the flow direction of the grid, the main control module will determine the flow direction corresponding to the adjusted grid, and send the adjusted flow direction information to the display screen to realize the intelligent adjustment of the number and flow direction of the grid.

Adjustment according to grid utilization rate: the computer can detect the grid utilization rate of all crossed grids according to the preset time period. When the utilization rate of any grid is lower than the preset grid utilization threshold, the system will re-allocate grids for each flow direction and allocate unassigned grids to the flow direction with low utilization rate, so as to balance the workload of each grid and improve the overall sorting efficiency.
